Attorney search becomes available once the real NC attorney roster is loaded. No sample or placeholder attorneys are ever shown.
Setup: run node tools/build_nc_roster.js to generate data/nc_attorney_roster_real.csv, then reload.
Admin Import internal tool
Load the real attorney roster. This is an internal/admin tool — not part of the customer flow.
Accepts .csv, .json, or .html exported/saved from the directory. Auto-parsed.
- In the official directory, search Active attorneys near a ZIP/city.
- Select the on-screen results and copy them (plain text, a table, or HTML all work).
- Paste below and click Parse pasted data — the format is detected automatically.
- Review every row, then Load into search.
Edit any cell. Confirm licensing status. Remove rows that aren't real active attorneys. Add ZIPs so “Select nearest 20” works. Practice tags are optional — leave blank if the source has none.
Download nc_attorney_roster.csv for safekeeping, and/or load it into the live search.
